And I WISH I could come back again! The conversations & thoughts that were generated from that week continue to resonate in my mind. I think about them often (daily, almost) and long for that community again. I am a US citizen. I love Missouri . . . never want to leave it. But America is my country! One thing I appreciated most about the Landmarks institute at Montpelier was how speakers like Will Harris, Ralph Ketcham and Noah Pickus wove theory and history together. It's sometimes challenging to think about both the history and the theory motivating events but we too often give up one or the other. I find myself thinking in these dualities all the time now! I think providing that kind of sensibility for students is essential too. I'm convinced. To be an effective constitutional citizen, you have to keep both in view. I used Delicious for all the bookmarks I want to keep. I just recently transferred all that to Diigo, however. I know Yahoo sold Delicious and there were rumors they were going to kill it. The tags make it super easy to pull something up you saw eons ago. At any rate, I'm stepwinder on all the above. I may hit your bookmarks again as we start trying to put together a more hi-tech version of our NEH seminar. Thanks for throwing Delicious into this conversation. It's a great tool too.
